Interstate 81 lane closing in Augusta County on May 22 for sinkhole repair

interstate 81The left lane of northbound Interstate 81 near mile marker 212 in Augusta County is scheduled to close at 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, for a sinkhole repair. This location is between I-81 exit 205 at Route 606 in Raphine and exit 213 at Route 11 in Greenville

Interstate maintenance crews recently discovered the sinkhole on the northbound left shoulder at mile marker 212.4.

I-81 northbound motorists may experience delays during the repair operation. There is no estimated time for reopening the left lane. For the safety of motorists and work crews, sinkhole repair operations may be delayed in the event in inclement weather.
