ntelos-headerDISH (NASDAQ: DISH) and nTelos Wireless (NASDAQ: NTLS) are now offering a new high-speed Internet service to residents in Virginia including parts of Charlottesville, Waynesboro, Staunton, Harrisonburg and Roanoke. As previously announced, the companies began with a pilot program and are now expanding the service availability.

DISH and nTelos Wireless are bringing a new high-speed Internet option for consumers in central and western Virginia, with 4G LTE speeds comparable to other residential broadband services, but available in more areas, and at a better price when bundled with our award-winning TV service,” said David Zufall, DISH vice president of wireless. “Our offer delivers high-speed Internet with no contract, free installation and no equipment to buy.”

Customers can receive the LTE signal using a BandRich ruggedized outdoor router with built-in high-gain antennas to receive the 2.5 GHz LTE signal from nTelos Wireless network sites. Customers will experience download speeds of up to 10Mbps. DISH-nTelos Wireless high-speed Internet is available for $29.99 per month when bundled with a qualifying package of DISH’s award-winning satellite TV service.

“Results from the first phase of the program were encouraging,” said James A. Hyde, CEO of ntelos Holdings Corp. “We are excited to begin this important next step to  the original trial by adding customers in select markets, which will allow both companies to further evaluate the viability of a full commercial launch. The early success we’ve seen in the pilot program is a testament to our focus on driving growth by finding innovative ways to leverage our unique set of assets and expand our product offerings through strategic partnerships.”

DISH has a force of professional technicians who can install high-gain outdoor antennas just like they install outdoor satellite dishes,” said Zufall. “The result is a reliable, high-speed Internet service that allows for streaming, web surfing, gaming and email, for many homes that to date had much slower speeds or no Internet at all available to them.”
