Area lawmakers to hear student proposals on health insurance coverage

jamesmadisonlogopurplepcRep. Steve Landes and State Sen. Emmett W. Hanger Jr. will listen to students propose solutions to the health insurance coverage gap for 400,000 Virginians during the annual Health Policy Summit on Thursday, Dec. 3, at James Madison University.

The summit, featuring proposals by students in communication sciences and disorders; nursing; and social work, will take place from 12-5 p.m. in the Festival Center Ballroom on the JMU campus east of Interstate 81.

Nearly 250 students are scheduled to attend the event. The summit’s main focus is inter-professional education of students in communication sciences and disorders; nursing; and social work.
