Details are sketchy on a road-rage incident that allegedly took place in Charlottesville on Sunday afternoon, where one of the parties involved opened a car door and brandished a knife, according to a call to police.
The University of Virginia Police Department initially described the event as an off-grounds carjacking attempt prompting a safety alert for the UVA community.
The incident allegedly occurred somewhere near University Avenue and 14th Street, though UVA police walked back the exact location in an update posted to social media last night.
The suspect is described as a male, in his mid-30s, tall with a thin build who was wearing a black beanie, a light brown jacket and a dark shirt.
