If you were wondering how ticket sales were going for the UVA Football season opener, which is five days away, well.
Charlottesville City Schools posted a news item to its Facebook page today about a free ticket offer for families and staff.
School families and staff can claim up to four free tickets for Saturday’s game with NC State, which kicks off in the 3:30 p.m. ET quarter-hour.

The offer expires at 11:59 p.m. Thursday.
Not criticizing here – I’ve been saying and writing for years, if we’re not selling tickets, we ought to give them away, just to get butts in seats.
Above all else, football games are TV shows that the University hopes puts the UVA brand in the best possible light.
Empty seats visible on TV shots are not good for marketing purposes.
But then, that said, we won 11 games last year, and we can’t sell tickets to the season opener, against an ACC opponent?
Not good.
