Rhythm is at the center of this dynamic program using text, body percussion and an eclectic blend of music, as moments of tenderness and grace alternate with humor and brash force. Inner Sun, the latest Koresh work funded by the National Endowment for the Arts, is the centerpiece of this dynamic program.

A collaboration between choreographer Roni Koresh, composer John Levis and spoken word artist Karl Mullens, together they explore the parallel between the earth’s inner sun and that of the human body, the human spirit. In this non-stop program, Inner Sun, is performed along-side Koresh favorites including their acclaimed Bolero, and more Koresh favorites. Koresh Dance Company is recognized for superb technique, synchronization, speed, power, and emotive acuity.

Koresh Dance Company was founded in 1991 by Israeli-born choreographer and artistic director Ronen (Roni) Koresh. Known for its engaging performance and technically superb dancers, the company performs critically acclaimed works in touring performances around the country. Koresh has been hailed internationally, touring to destinations including Spain, Turkey, Israel, South Korea, Mexico, and Guatemala. Over the years, Roni has developed a vast repertoire of work that ranges from explosive and passionate to intimate and restrained.

This program is sponsored in part by the Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts.
