When it snows, the Waynesboro Senior Center makes its decision about being open or closed independently. We do not automatically follow the decisions of one of the school systems. Generally we make this decision by 6:30a.m. The easiest way to find out if we are closed is to call us and see if we have a closed message on our phone system. If technology permits, we will also post it on our Facebook page and our website. We also notify the Charlottesville television stations. Since we aren’t a school, you need to go to their websites to see the business closings.
Members should always evaluate the conditions at your house (the roads, driveway, steps, walkway, etc.) and make their own decision on if they should come to the Center on that particular day.
Our van drivers are instructed to evaluate those same conditions when deciding which people they can safely pickup to come to the Center.
