The World According To ChrisGraham.com: A day late, a couple of dollars short

Yeah, I get it – it’s too late. Don’t care. Bud, dude, you should have reversed the call.

We all know – hell, Jim Joyce admitted it not long afterward – that Joyce missed the call that turned what would have been the 27th out in Armando Galarraga’s perfect game into the Infield Single Heard ‘Round the World.

Here’s why the call should have been reversed. Not, and let me be clear on this, just because Joyce got it wrong and called Jason Donald safe. I stress that because if the next Cleveland hitter gets on, maybe works a walk, gets a base hit, hits a long, towering homer, whatever, then whatever chance there would be to try to justify going back and doing something about the call goes away.
