Rockfish Valley Ruritans aiding Nelson County Food Pantry

Contributors

The Rockfish Valley Ruritan Club has joined the campaign to collect funds for the Nelson County Food Pantry to provide turkeys to their 300+ clients.

Even though the Food Pantry has been able to secure an excellent price from a partner for providing turkeys, the cost of purchasing them does place a significent financial burden on the Nelson County Food Pantry Board of Directors.

They had a tough decision to make in terms of spending thousands of dollars on providing a turkey for the traditional Thanksgiving Dinner this year, and they really could use some financial help this year.

We would like the community to come together to help the Nelson County Food Pantry provide turkeys for those in need during the Holidays as well as to continue to provide a much needed service all year long to our friends and neighbors in Nelson County.  Here are some ways you can support this effort.

Devils Backbone Brewery’s “Bouncing for Turkeys”

On Monday, November 12th, from 6:00 a.m. until 6:00 a.m. Tuesday, individuals will be “Bouncing for Turkeys” on a trampoline to raise funds for the Nelson County Food Pantry for their turkey purchase.  Stop by and support the “bouncers” or drop a donation by the brewery during their hours of operation 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. on Monday, November 12th.

Tax Deductible Donations

Individuals may make tax deductible donations to the Food Pantry at any time.  Mail your donations to the Nelson County Food Pantry, PO Box 353, Lovingston, VA 22949.  If you would like to earmark your donation for the Thanksgiving turkey purchase, you may do so in the memo line of your check.
