The Virginia Horse Center, host of the Rockbridge Regional Fair, which runs July 16-19, has announced that Sherwood Amusements will be furnishing the rides this year, doubling the number from past years.
Part of Route 604 (McClures Mill Road) in Augusta County will be closed for bridge work for about six weeks beginning Tuesday, July 15, 2014. The Virginia Department of Transportation will replace a bridge over Christians Creek with a box culvert.
Drivers can expect lane closures July 7-11, 2014 at the intersection of Route 220 (Sam Snead Highway) and Route 684 (Incubator Hollow Road) in Bath County just south of Hot Springs. This is for water-line repair work at the intersection.

Both southbound lanes of Interstate 81 in Shenandoah County are blocked due to a tractor trailer accident at exit 279 (Edinburg). The southbound side of the interstate is expect to be closed for at least two hours. There is currently a 10-mile backup.
Northbound traffic on I-81 in Shenandoah County is limited to the right lane due to a charter bus accident near mile marker 294 just south of Strasburg. It is expected to take at least two hours to remove the wrecked vehicle and reopen the left lane.
Part of Route 754 (Berrytown Road) in Rockingham County will be closed for about a month while Virginia Department of Transportation crews rehabilitate the bridge over Gap Run.
A portion of Route 220 (Potomac River Road) in Highland County will close Monday, May 19, 2014 for an emergency pipe repair. The location is about 0.4 mile north of the southern intersection of Route 220 and Route 632 (The Pines Road).
The Virginia Department of Transportation will have an overnight lane closure May 7-8 along eastbound Interstate 64 between mile markers 89 and 91 in Augusta County.
The Virginia Department of Transportation will have overnight lane closures on April 27 and 28 along Interstate 64 between mile markers 87 and 94 in Augusta County. This will allow installation of a bridge overhang at exit 91 in the Fishersville area.
