On Sunday morning, September 21, motorists should be alert for slow-roll lane closures on portions of Interstate 81 and Interstate 64 in the Lexington and Timber Ridge area of Rockbridge County.

Part of Route 703 (Hewitt Road) in Augusta County will be closed for about six weeks starting at 8 a.m. on Monday, September 15, while the Virginia Department of Transportation replaces a bridge over Middle River.

Milling and paving continues this week on Interstate 81 northbound in Shenandoah County as part of a pavement rehabilitation project. Beginning tonight, this will result in the following overnight lane and ramp closures:

The portion of Route 726 (Stone Spring Road) in Rockingham County that closed in early August will reopen on the morning of Tuesday, September 9.

As part of the Interstate 81 pavement rehabilitation project in Shenandoah County, milling and paving continues between mile markers 264 and 274 northbound.

The northbound on-ramp to Interstate 81 at Exit 264 (New Market) in Shenandoah County will be closed overnight for milling and paving.

Part of Route 726 (Stone Spring Road) in Rockingham County will be closed for intersection improvements beginning Friday, August 8, 2014.

The Virginia Department of Transportation has opened the new Cooks Creek bridge on Route 704 (Oakwood Drive) in Rockingham County near the town of Bridgewater. Traffic was shifted onto the new span this week, three months ahead of schedule.
