Motorists should be alert for northbound and southbound “slow roll” lane closures on the morning of Sunday, November 2, along Interstate 81 in Frederick County. This operation will allow crews to install overhead utility lines crossing I-81 at mile marker 307.2 in the Stephens City area.
Traffic will be controlled with a northbound slow roll beginning at mile marker 304.2. The southbound slow roll starts at mile marker 310.2. The slow roll is scheduled to take place between 7:30 a.m. and 8:45 a.m. Sunday, and should require 15 minutes or less to complete. During this time there will be a brief closure of the on-ramp to southbound I-81 at exit 307 (Stephens City) and the on-ramp to northbound I-81 at the truck weigh station near mile marker 304.
The operation will utilize Virginia State Police and variable message boards. All work is weather permitting, and slow-roll times are subject to change.
