This week, contractor crews are continuing to pick up debris from the side of Interstate 64 in Louisa County from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
VDOT remains in emergency operations and is focused on clearing ice and snow from major routes in the Fredericksburg area, including Interstate 95.
The Virginia Department of Transportation is developing design plans for a new auxiliary lane that would be located between the junction of westbound I-64 at exit 221 and Route 262 at exit 220.
Through tractor trailers will be prohibited on Beech Grove/Reeds Gap Road from Mount Torrey Road (Va. 664)/Love Road (Va. 814) in Augusta County to Patrick Henry Highway (Va. 151) in Nelson County, a distance of 7.95 miles.
All Interstate 64 westbound pavement rehabilitation work scheduled for June 25 and June 26 is canceled. No new date for the work has been established.
Nighttime construction will affect northbound traffic on U.S. 29 at Interstate 64 in Albemarle County on Sunday and Monday.
Motorists should be alert for periodic left-lane closures on southbound Interstate 81 at mile-marker 276 in Shenandoah County for slope work.
Overnight closures of the on-ramps from Route 606 (Raphine Road) onto northbound and southbound Interstate 81 are scheduled for Sunday and Tuesday nights, May 17 and May 19.
All Interstate 81 southbound lanes between exits 213 and 205 are scheduled to be closed from about 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tuesday for Virginia State Police to investigate a recent crash.
