The Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library & Museum and Virginia Public Media will present “Life in the Heart Land Community Program” at The Wayne Theatre on Thursday, Oct. 17.

The Emmy Award-winning docuseries from VPM PBS dives deep into the heart of America to meet the neighbors, communities and organizations creating unique solutions to rural America’s toughest challenges.

Facing formidable obstacles, the collaborators are breaking down divides and roadblocks to build new pathways to meaningful, positive outcomes that have the power to inspire empathy and action and to transform other communities across the nation.

WWPL’s President and CEO Robin von Seldeneck will join a panel discussion at the event to explore an array of topics that matter to the rural Virginia community.

Doors will open at 5 p.m., a free reception will be held 6 to 6:45 p.m. and the program will be held 7 to 8:30 p.m.

The event is free, but registration is requested online. The event will include a reception, screenings, panel discussions and performances by Robin and Linda Williams, Tasia White and Angela Mickens. The Wayne Theatre is at 521 W. Main Street, Waynesboro.
