river-city-radio-hourWilliam Hayes returns from the frozen tundra of Canton, Ohio, and takes his seat at the keyboard for the March 15 River City Radio Hour.

“We missed him,” said Richard Adams, leader of the Boogie Kings.  “Kathy LaFon was a real treat, but it is good to have our good buddy back.”  Also sharing the Radio stage will be Peter Monticup, Marsha Howard and Chrystal McKee.

Peter Monticup is a magician’s magician.  He has performed throughout the United States, but his newest venture, The Carnival of Wonder, will premiere at the Gateway in April.  Besides being the guest of the month, Professor Monticup will demonstrate one of his greatest illusions.  A drawing for a ticket to the Carnival of Wonder will complete the Radio Hour performances.

Livening the Radio Hour will be Waynesboro’s First Lady of Laughter Marsha Howard.  “Laughter makes everything in life easier to handle, “says Marsha.  What she calls her “good clean jokes” proves it so.

Bob Crawford’s serial, A. Love Diary, opens a new chapter in the life of Angel and her mother Louise who has joined her in the big city.  Drama is added when more information turns up about the murder of Angel’s accompanist.  Will the crime be solved and will Louise find romance at the Bcck Porch?  Only the writer knows.

Chrystal McKee created the role of the Angel Powell in Crawford’s serial. Monthly she gives a peek at her talents as a vocalist.  The March Radio Hour will bring her center stage to join the Boogie Kings in her own right.

Advance tickets for the River City Radio Hour are $10 and are available online (www.wtagateway.com) or by calling the box office (540-943-9999).  Remaining tickets will be available on the evening of the performances for $12.

Leave Dianna Russini alone: Sportswriters, coaches, happen to like hot tubs

I’m totally on the side of Dianna Russini in this generated controversy over her being caught holding hands, hugging and lounging in a hot tub with New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel.
