Washington tops San Francisco on Clint Robinson homer, 2-1

nationals_logoA bunch of zeroes, then a busy seventh inning, with a solo homer by Buster Posey in the top and a two-run shot by Clint Robinson in the bottom, ended with a 2-1 win for the Nats over the defending World Series champion San Francisco Giants Friday night at Nationals Park.

Gio Gonzalez (6-4) outdueled Jake Peavey (0-3). Gonzalez got the win for the Nationals, going seven innings, allowing a run on five hits, striking out six without a walk.

Peavey gave up two runs on three hits in six and a third innings, striking out four and walking four.

Drew Storen earned his 24th save with a perfect ninth.

The Nats (44-36) have a four-game lead on the New York Mets in the National League East.
