The Virginia Scenic Railway is now offering a second departure stop, adding a new hub in Louisa with service beginning later this month.

The trips will begin on Jan. 22; tickets are on sale now.

The Louisa Flyer will offer a three-hour roundtrip excursion traveling west to the outskirts of Charlottesville before returning to Louisa.

The Louisa Flyer Extended will offer a longer ride at four hours, and will travel through Gordonsville, Keswick, Charlottesville and Ivy.

A Sunday Brunch train is also new to the lineup.

The Louisa station is located at 105 Church Ave., near exit 143 off Interstate 64, offering a starting location between Richmond and Charlottesville.

The current station in Staunton will continue to offer excursions with the Blue Ridge Flyer and Alleghany Special. The trains depart from 415 Bridge Street in Staunton and offer a three-hour roundtrip journey.
