Staunton to open downtown parking facilities in advance of snow storm

Contributors

staunton virginiaThe City of Staunton will open all parking facilities at 5 p.m. today in preparation for Monday’s winter storm.

Free parking in city garages and lots will be offered as a courtesy to downtown residents and to facilitate the city’s snow removal efforts in the Central Business District. The suspension of parking fees will continue until the city announces the resumption of normal services.

Given the small accumulation of snow predicted for the area, the city will not impose parking restrictions on downtown streets; however, residents are encouraged to take advantage of free parking in city lots and garages. Regular time and other limitations applicable to on-street parking will remain in effect.
