Runners and walkers of all skill levels are invited to lace up their shoes for the Nourishing Strides 5K at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at historic Montgomery Hall Park.

Participants will enjoy a scenic trek through the park’s beautiful woods, fields and roads, followed by a post-race celebration at the finish line.

The event supports Jones Gardens, which operates two community gardens in Staunton that provide free and affordably priced, sustainably-grown produce and programming to area residents. The non-profit organization’s mission is to empower individuals with the skills and confidence to grow their own food and take charge of their health.

Jones Gardens is beginning its fifth growing season, and all proceeds will directly fund garden operations and
programming.

“Every dollar we raise through Nourishing Strides will help us in our mission to empower more people to put wholesome foods on their tables at a time when produce and food costs, in general, are hitting family budgets hard,” said Naomi Jones, director and founder of Jones Gardens.

Registration for the Nourishing Strides 5K is now open online, and additional sponsorship opportunities are available for businesses. Registration is $20 ($25 after April 1) and includes a Nourishing Strides 5K T-shirt.

This year’s event is generously sponsored by CMA’s Valley Subaru, Custom Gardening Services, DuPont Community Credit Union, Fairfield by Marriott, Kris McMackin CPA, LD&B Insurance, McDonough Toyota, Tru and Whiskey Creek Regenerative Farming.
