Illustrious Illustrators (overall theme of the week), August 3-7 10am-Noon

From Beatrix Potter’s Peter Rabbit to today’s graphic novels, art has long been a part of literature. Each age group will learn about illustrators, mediums, and styles throughout literary history.  These inspirations will surely launch new best sellers.

Petite Publishers (ages 4-5) with Sarah Beth Latane. These young storytellers will dictate their own stories and add artistic expression to make the story even more appealing to readers.

Rocking Rhymers (ages 6-8) with Karen Hurt.  Every age loves the rhyming books of Dr. Seuss who illustrated them himself.  What a fun challenge to create one’s own!

New Novelists (ages 9-12) with Sharon Morris.  The graphic novel has become a very popular literary and art form enjoyed by the older set.  These are stories largely told in pictures… think comics and superheroes.
