Two men have been charged with first-degree murder in connection with a homicide in Richmond that occurred this summer on Interstate 64.
Troy Jefferson, 19, and Rahmel Tyshawn Stewart, 20, both of Richmond, have also been charged with the use of a firearm in commission of a felony.
Both men were arrested earlier this month; one was already incarcerated in an unrelated matter.
The arrests follow an investigation by Virginia State Police into the June 1 fatal shooting on I-64 eastbound, just before exit 187, at 1:47 a.m.
Naseem Kariem King, 18, of Varina, was shot and killed while driving on the interstate. King had exited onto the ramp for Interstate 95 when he came to a stop on the shoulder. There were two other individuals inside the victim’s vehicle at the time of the shooting; they were not injured.
