Norfolk | Shot fired on Interstate 64 after verbal confrontation, says police

A vehicle on Interstate 64 came under fire after a verbal altercation early this morning in Norfolk.

There were no injuries.

The shooting occurred at 2:09 a.m. on I-64 eastbound near the Norview Avenue on-ramp, according to Virginia State Police.

The driver told police that he had been driving in the far left lane of the interstate when a black Infinity sped up behind him at a high rate of speed. The driver moved over a lane to the right and said there was a verbal confrontation before one shot was fired from the suspect vehicle.

The incident is under investigation by the Chesapeake field office.
