It seems that a woman driving a Jeep cut off a 61-year-old Charlotte man driving a Mercedes-Benz on Interstate 77 in Carroll County, in the Fancy Gap area near the Virginia-North Carolina border, last night, and the 61-year-old Charlotte man decided it was a good idea to fire shots into the Jeep, because why not.
The 20-year-old driver of the Jeep and a 12-year-old passenger were wounded in the road-rage attack; Virginia State Police stopped the Mercedes-Benz a few miles down I-77 and arrested the driver, Richard T. Arriviello, 61, of Charlotte.
Ariviello is facing four charges related to the shooting.
But get this: the driver of the Jeep was also charged, in her case, with reckless driving.
The release from VSP giving us all the details on this incident didn’t provide her name.
I dunno, but seems to me, you get a mulligan for cutting somebody off when they shoot you.
The other get this to our story here: WBTV, a Charlotte-area TV station, reported that it had confirmed, through the North Carolina Medical Board, that Arriviello is a licensed physician and the owner of Family Urgent Care in Monroe, N.C., which is about 30 miles southeast of Charlotte, near the South Carolina border.
Monroe is about a three-hour drive from Fancy Gap.
