The Beth Macy congressional campaign is finally getting some significant outside help, from EMILY’s List, which said in a release on Thursday that it is “expanding its Mission Majority initiative into deeper Republican territory.”
Can’t get much deeper than the Sixth District, which the MAGA Republican incumbent, Ben Cline, won by 28.3 points in 2024, and even went pretty strong in the 2025 cycle that was otherwise a statewide sweep for Democrats to the GOP candidate for governor, Winsome Earle-Sears, by a 16.6-point margin.
Even getting to 40 percent in a congressional race in the Sixth is a hurdle for the Dems, but Macy has done everything right to this point – leading Cline in the fundraising race, while Cline has spent hundreds of thousands of his relatively limited dollars on a run of consultants.
“From the start of this cycle, EMILYs List knew Democratic women would be the key to building a path to the House majority — and that Republicans’ disastrous record would create an opportunity to expand the battlefield into tougher territory,” EMILYs List President Jessica Mackler said in a statement.
Mission Majority is EMILYs List’s aggressive effort to flip control of the U.S. House in 2026 by putting Democratic women at the center of the fight. Through the program, EMILYs List recruits, trains, and works alongside Democratic women running in competitive districts critical to winning the House majority.
