Richmond Police identify victim in Hull Street Road shooting that killed one, injured two

Police detectives have identified the victim in the death investigation into the Hull Street Road shooting on Monday morning in Richmond.

Samir Mejia-Zelaya, 19, of Richmond, was pronounced dead at the scene.

At approximately 1:26 a.m., officers were called to the 5400 block of Hull Street Road for a report of random gunfire. Once on scene, officers located three adults in a nearby parking lot who had suffered gunshot wounds. A male and a female were also injured in the shooting.

The Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of death.

The two injured individuals were transported to a local hospital with injuries that were not considered life threatening.
