Democrat vs. Republican on whiteRepublicans Dickie Bell, Ben Cline and Steve Landes easily won re-election to the Virginia House of Delegates, and State Sen. Mark Obenshain won re-election to the State Senate in a landslide.

Bell defeated Libertarian Will Hammer in the 20th House District, which includes Staunton, Waynesboro and portions of Augusta County and Nelson County, receiving 75.2 percent of the vote. Cline, in the 24th House District, which includes portions of Augusta and Rockbridge, Lexington and Amherst, got 70.8 percent of the vote in his race with Democrat Ellen Arthur.

Landes, the incumbent in the 25th District, which includes portions of Albemarle, Augusta and Rockingham, defeated Democrat Angela Lynn with 64.7 percent of the vote.

Obenshain received 67.9 percent of the vote in his re-election battle with Democrat April Moore in the 26th Senate District, which stretches from Harrisonburg and Rockingham into Shenandoah, Page, Warren and Rappahannock.

Statewide, Republicans hold a 65-32 advantage in the House of Delegates, with three races still to be decided, and the GOP will maintain its 21-19 majority in the State Senate.
