City Council recently announced its support for an initiative known as One Waynesboro allocating $100,000 to address housing and food security.
One Waynesboro is comprised of:
- Renewing Homes of Greater Augusta
- HERO of Waynesboro
- River City Bread Basket/LIFEworks Project
- Embrace Waynesboro
- Waynesboro Area Refuge Ministry
The organizations are now teaming up to give residents the opportunity to learn more about the lifelines they are providing to the region’s most vulnerable residents – offering shelter, renewal and hope.
A giving event titled “Empty Cup” is planned downtown on Saturday, Dec. 6, from 1-5 p.m. at 414 W. Main St.
Live music and light refreshments will be available, and those who attend will have the opportunity to learn more about each organization and how to support them.
Partners for the event include the Shenandoah Music Trail and Creative Cause Solutions.
Parking for the event could be challenging as no vehicles will be allowed on Main Street after 3 p.m. The Waynesboro Christmas Parade will begin at 6 p.m. Therefore, streets will be closed at 3 p.m. on the parade route which travels from Arch Avenue to West Main Street, concluding on South Wayne Avenue.
