New dairy campaign: Time to get real about milk

Contributors

Milk-Truth-cow2The Milk Processor Education Program, or MilkPEP, is responding to dairy critics with a new campaign, “Get real about milk” and a related website at milktruth.com. The campaign is using the hashtag #MilkTruth.

The website focuses on the scientifically proven and measured nutrients provided by milk and how they stack up against nutrients in alternative beverages such as those made with soy, almonds or rice. It reminds consumers that nutrition is a science, not a point of view.

MilkPEP Marketing Manager Victor Zaborsky recently told AGWeb that consumers “are out there getting information from a lot of different sources. It is really important that we set the record straight and start telling the truth about milk. … We think there is a real opportunity for the farmers, milk companies and all of the supporting players to help us set the record straight.”
