New beginning farmer program available for high school students

newspaperThe Northern Piedmont Beginning Farmer Program will hold its first Junior Beginning Farmer Program in July and August for youth in grades 9-12 who are interested in agricultural careers. The free program will be held at the Fauquier Education Farm.

The program will consist of evening classes on July 27, Aug. 3 and Aug. 10 and farm tours on July 28 and Aug. 2. It also will introduce the Virginia Beginning Farmer and Rancher curriculum.
