McEachin announces $3 million grant to Virginia Department of Health for maternal, child health services

Congressman A. Donald McEachin (VA-04) announced a grant for $3,062,243 from the Department of Health and Human Services to the Virginia Department of Health for maternal and child health services.

 “The United States lags behind other industrialized nations with a higher rate of maternal and perinatal death. Unfortunately, low income women, women of color and their babies have an even higher rate of fatalities. This funding is sorely needed to address this vexing issue and to ensure that every mom and every baby goes home healthy.” Congressman McEachin said.
