Madison Bumgarner strikes out 14 in 5-0 win over Nationals

nationals_logoWorld Series MVP Madison Bumgarner struck out 14 in a complete-game three-hit 5-0 shutout of the reeling Washington Nationals on Sunday.

The Nats (58-59) have lost six in a row and 13 of 17 and are now 10-20 since the All-Star break.

Joe Ross (3-5, 3.86 ERA) took the loss, allowing four runs on six hits in four-plus innings, striking out six and walking one.

Bumgarner (14-6, 2.98 ERA) has won six of his last seven starts, and has a 2.16 ERA in that stretch.
