Liberty announces 2018 football game times

libertyAs anticipation continues to grow for Liberty’s first season of FBS football, college football’s highest level of competition, the Liberty athletics department has announced game times for its six home games in 2018.

The Flames will play their first three home games of the year at 6 p.m. (Sept. 1 vs. Old Dominion; Sept. 15 vs. Norfolk State; Sept. 22 vs. North Texas) and their final three home games at 2 p.m. (Oct. 13 vs. Troy; Oct. 20 vs. Idaho State; Nov. 24 vs. New Mexico State).

This year, fans will experience a newly renovated Williams Stadium, home of Liberty’s football program since 1989. Stadium capacity has been increased to 25,000 (up from 19,200), with the east side of the stadium offering new upper deck seating and expanded concession and restroom options.

Liberty has also announced the special events and festivities surrounding each of Liberty’s six home football games in 2018:

Sept. 1 vs. Old Dominion – 6 p.m. (Kickoff to Inaugural FBS Season/Football Alumni Weekend)

Sept. 15 vs. Norfolk State – 6 p.m. (Hall of Fame Weekend)

Sept. 22 vs. North Texas – 6 p.m. (College for a Weekend)

Oct. 13 vs. Troy – 2 p.m. (Family Weekend)

Oct. 20 vs. Idaho State – 2 p.m. (Homecoming Weekend)

Nov. 24 vs. New Mexico State – 2 p.m. (Staff and Military Appreciation Day)
