Lane closures on Va. 616 in Fort Defiance area next week

road-work-headerMotorists should be alert for lane closures September 16-18, 2013 on Route 616 (Dam Town Road) near Fort Defiance in Augusta County. The work zone will be between Route 777 (Knightly Lane) and Route 929 (River Bend Drive).

The westbound lane of Route 616 will be closed Monday, September 16. The eastbound lane will be closed Tuesday andWednesday, September 17-18. Signs and flaggers will help direct traffic during the closures, which will run from about 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

The daytime closures will allow crews to do soil testing in the area. All work is weather permitting.

The VDOT Staunton District serves Frederick, Shenandoah, Clarke, Warren, Page, Rockingham, Augusta, Highland, Rockbridge, Alleghany and Bath counties.
