Kaine announces $3M in additional ad buys

An additional $3 million in TV, radio, print and online ad buys will push the total marketing commitment of the Tim Kaine Senate campaign to $7.5 million.

The Kaine campaign announced the additional buys Tuesday and attributed the extra money in the budget to substantial growth in its donor base. The campaign has now received donations from more than 40,000 individuals, with more than 10,000 of those donors contributing money to the campaign for the first time in the past six weeks.

“The same incredible grassroots support that allowed us to make an early and strong investment in television advertisements this fall, has enabled our campaign to increase its capacity to share Gov. Kaine’s message throughout the Commonwealth,” said Kaine for Virginia Communications Director Brandi Hoffine.

“More than 40,000 individual donors have gotten involved in this campaign because they support Kaine’s commitment to find common ground to create opportunities and improve the lives of all Virginians. As more Virginians who are tired of the partisan gridlock in Washington continue to learn about Kaine’s forward-looking, Virginia-based approach to address our fiscal issues and strengthen the economy, we will continue to see this number grow.”
