Jim Ross: Has CM Punk wrestled his last match in WWE?

Chris Graham

cmpunkWWE should have recognized that CM Punk was fraying around the edges, says Jim Ross. But either nobody saw what happened with Punk leaving coming, or did nothing to stop it from happening, and now we are where we are.

But does that mean that Punk, who walked out on Monday Night Raw hours before the live show, has wrestled his last match in WWE?

“I do not think that Punk has wrestled his last match in WWE,” Ross wrote on his blog on Thursday.

Ross noted his perspective as former head of talent relations in WWE. There’s a lot of give and take involved in working with talents, particularly top draws like Punk.

“Punk has much to offer WWE and vice versa,” Ross wrote. “Punk never has a stinker of a match and has built a magnificent brand while in WWE. On the other hand, WWE has utilized Punk in a variety of ways and each time, no matter the creative, Punk seemed to thrive.

“It’s been a great partnership in many ways. However, no one is saying that all great partnerships are always hearts and flowers. They rarely are,” Ross wrote.

As many have been speculating since Punk’s departure hit the news overnight Monday night, Ross feels that Punk and WWE will eventually kiss and make up.

“Time heals many things. Punk needs to go home and chill. Get healthy both mentally and physically and continue to communicate with WWE,” Ross wrote.
