The popular bluegrass band Hound Dog Hill will perform at WTA’s Gateway on Saturday, September 8.

Formed in 2003 by Cutch Tuttle, the band has evolved into a high-energy Bluegrass and Old Time String Band. Using all acoustic instruments and drawing on the rich musical heritage of the Shenandoah Valley, they represent the best in traditional music. “We are very pleased to have the band open our season.  They are a perfect beginning,” said Tracy Straight, chair of the WTA programming committee.

The six-piece Hound Dog Hill band has won several awards including First Places at the Appalachian String Band Festival in Clifftop WV and the 15th Annual Glen Maury Fiddler’s Convention in Buena Vista, VA.  They have performed across the region on TV and radio as well as at county fairs, festivals, benefits, and gatherings of all kinds.  The band includes Cutch Tuttle, Chris Carpenter, Michael Emerson, Michael Giordano, Jeremy Hinkle Ethan Hawkins, and Hippy Dave.  They are a group to be remembered.

The performance by Hound Dog Hill begins at 8 pm. Doors at WTA’s Gateway open at 7:30 pm.  Advanced tickets for the event may be purchased online at www.wtagateway.com or by calling the box office at 540-943-99999.  Advanced tickets are $10 and $12 on the day of the performance.
