Healthy Connections health event at Boys & Girls Club

A neighborhood health event, Healthy Connections, will be held on Thursday, Dec. 12 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Waynesboro Boys & Girls Club.  The event features information and resources families need for a healthy life.

  • Free health screenings for adults:  Diabetes/Glucose, Cholesterol, Blood Pressure, Stroke Assessment, Body Mass Index Measurement, Pulmonary Function Test, Sleep Assessment and Dental Screenings.
  • Flu Shots
  • Children’s Activities:  Physical and Educational Activities focusing on heart health
  • Health Exchange Corner:  Navigators and Certified Counselors from Med Assist, Valley Community Services Board and Enroll Virginia
  • “The Discharge Desk” to provide an opportunity to ask health professionals about the screening results
  • Health information
  • A warm, nutritious soup supper

The event is a cooperative project of Augusta Health, Augusta Free Clinic, the Boys and Girls Club, Med Assist, Enroll Virginia, the Valley Community Services Board, and local providers.
