Elizabeth Hogan of Waynesboro dives deep into the healing labyrinth with Fever Induced, her debut novella now available on Amazon.

Hogan, who writes under the pen name Polished Penny, was inspired to write Fever Induced while suffering from a prolonged fever.

“It lasted about 10 days,” she said. “When I came out of the fever, there was a story in my mind. Then I was compelled to get the story out. It has evolved, grown and taken twists and turns, but that’s where it started.”

The book follows a woman who, after having her heart broken, leaves Virginia for Cuba. Her quest for healing leads her on a wild expedition, complete with a treasure map and a legendary key to the fountain of youth.

“There are so many anecdotes in this story,” Hogan said. “The healing that she stumbles upon is the balm for all of humanity. It’s good and juicy stuff.”

Polished Penny hopes that readers, especially individuals with mercury amalgam fillings or teeth containing any type of silver fillings with metal, will find the story not just engaging but also transformative.

“I hope readers walk away with healing in their body,” she said.

“Fever Induced” is available on Amazon.
