Five individuals were injured Friday night in the area of Orangedale Avenue in Charlottesville, and police believe multiple gunmen were involved in the shooting.

According to the Charlottesville Police Department, the victims that were shot included:

  • 52-year-old female
  • 18-year-old female
  • 17-year-old male
  • 11-year-old boy
  • 10-year-old girl

All victims are in stable condition at this time, according to police. No names have been released.

The chaotic scene unfolded at 11:23 p.m. when officers responded to a potential shooting call. Officers arrived on scene within two minutes of being dispatched.

Due to heavy foot and vehicle traffic, emergency medical units were unable to access the scene. Officers and medics worked together to transport the victims on foot and in patrol vehicles, applying pressure to their wounds until additional EMS personnel arrived.

Orangedale Avenue is a residential area near Forest Hills Park and Buford Middle School.

The Charlottesville Police Department’s criminal investigations division and forensics unit responded and are actively investigating the shooting. Early evidence suggests multiple shooters were involved.

Officers are in the area conducting a search for any additional evidence.

Anyone with video footage or information related to this incident is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at (434) 977-4000.
