The Bridgewater College baseball team is ranked No. 21 in the nation in the D3Baseball.com Preseason Top 25 released Wednesday.
Bridgewater was ranked No. 24 earlier this month by Collegiate Baseball in its preseason rankings.
The Eagles are coming off one of the best seasons in progam history. The 2014 team won a program record 36 games and advanced to the South Region playoffs championship game where it lost to Emory University, the eventual national runner-up.
Four of the six teams that participated in the 2014 South Regional tournament are ranked in this year’s preseason poll. Emory is ranked No. 3 with Shenandoah No. 17, Birmingham Southern No. 18, and Bridgewater No. 21. Covenant, another South Region playoff team in 2014, received votes in the D3Baseball.com poll.
The Eagles will open the 2015 season on Feb. 14 in Newport News, Va., when they play North Carolina Wesleyan College.
