Big innings push Padres past Baltimore

baltimore oriolesSan Diego scored four in the seventh and three more in the ninth in a 10-7 win at Baltimore Tuesday.

The Padres (30-42) had 15 hits, with Matt Kemp going 4-for-6 at the plate, including two doubles and two runs batted in.

Derek Norris hit his ninth homer of the season, a solo shot in the fourth off UVA alum Tyler Wilson (3-5, 4.19 ERA), who gave up three runs on nine hits in six innings, striking out four and walking one in a no-decision.

Reliever Mychal Givens (5-1, 3.78 ERA) took the loss, giving up four runs without recording an out in the seventh, giving up three hits and walking two.

Pedro Alvarez (.240/.318/.473) hit two homers (8, 9) and drove in five runs on a 3-for-5 night for Baltimore (40-30).
