Baltimore tops Toronto, 4-2

baltimore oriolesManny Machado had three hits, and Jonathan Schoop hit his 11th homer in a 4-2 Baltimore win over Toronto on Saturday.

Machado (.317/.380/.605) was 3-for-4 at the plate for Baltimore (39-28), as was Schoop (.272/.301/.477), who also scored three of the O’s four runs.

J.J. Hardy (.247/.292/.420) was 1-for-3 on his return from a stint on the DL.

Yovani Gallardo (2-1, 6.26 ERA), also just back from the DL, got the win, giving up two runs on five hits in five innings, striking out five and walking four.

Zach Britton (21 saves, 0.93 ERA) loaded the bases in the ninth before getting Josh Donaldson to hit into a double play to close things out for the save.

R.A. Dickey (4-8, 4.08 ERA) took the loss for Toronto (39-32), giving up three runs, two earned, on seven hits in six innings, striking out two and walking two.
