baltimore oriolesMookie Betts went deep again, twice, but Baltimore, without a long ball, powered to a 13-9 win over the Boston Red Sox on Wednesday.

Betts, coming off a three-homer night on Tuesday, hit homers in the first and second, becoming the first player in Major League history to do that on consecutive nights.

He also tied the record for homers in a two-game stretch, and had five homers in a seven at-bat stretch spanning the two games.

Chris Young also homered twice, and David Ortiz went deep once for the Red Sox (32-21).

Baltimore (29-22) small-balled its way to victory, getting four in the first, highlighted by a two-run single from Mark Trumbo, three in the third, the big blow being an RBI single by Manny Machado, and three more in the seventh, punctuated by a two-run single by Matt Wieters.

Brad Brach (5-0, 0.94 ERA) got the win in relief, and Zach Britton pitched an inning and a third of scoreless relief to notch his 15th save.
