Augusta Health will renovate the first floor of its Patient Tower, including conversion six patient rooms from semi-private to private rooms, over the next several months. The renovations will include upgrades to the bathrooms and shower areas. Construction will begin Monday, July 8. Additional construction projects on the Augusta Health campus will include renovations in the Medical Office Building and creation of an ‘easy access’ corridor between the main hospital and the new Heart and Vascular Center.
“We’re excited to begin the renovations to our patient rooms to make them more comfortable and private for our patients and their families,” says Lisa Cline, MSN, MBA, and Vice President of Operations at Augusta Health. “The rooms, when finished, will be a soothing place to heal.”
During construction, noise levels may increase at times, and alternate paths around the first floor may be required. “Because we are renovating an existing space, and not building new construction, we realize we will, at times, experience some noise. We do apologize for that, and are taking steps to minimize the inconvenience to patients and families,” adds Cline.
After rooms on the first floor are completed, the schedule of renovations will continue throughout the year and should be completed by mid-December.
