ALZPossible.org helps Virginians find information on dementia

newspaperThe AlzPossible website, alzpossible.org,  has a new look aimed at helping professional caregivers in Virginia with updated information on Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.

The website’s relaunch offers more content and streamlines the material previously posted to make the site easier to navigate, said Charlotte Arbogast, dementia services coordinator with the Virginia Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services.

The Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders Commission, which advises the Governor and the General Assembly on issues that assist people with Alzheimer’s disease and their caregivers, began the website, alzpossible.org, in 2004.

The site has become a resource for health care professionals. It hosts the Commonwealth’s Dementia State Plan and a library of free webinars for professionals and caregivers on Alzheimer’s disease, dementia and related topics.

The redesigned website includes:

•             A map, listing and other details of interdisciplinary memory assessment centers in Virginia and surrounding states

•             New data on Alzheimer’s disease and dementia prevalence and estimates for cities and counties in Virginia

•             A listing of publically available data sets for use by researchers in Virginia to advance expertise in dementia causes, treatments and trends

•             A bimonthly “Ask the Expert” topic, with input and advice from dementia experts, advocates, and caregivers in Virginia

AlzPossible is a collaboration between DARS, the Commonwealth’s Alzheimer’s commission, the Virginia Commonwealth University Department of Gerontology and World Events Forum.

I’m totally on the side of Dianna Russini in this generated controversy over her being caught holding hands, hugging and lounging in a hot tub with New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel.
