The Virginia Scenic Railway is now taking reservations for its fall foliage excursions.

From Staunton, the Alleghany Special travels westbound and the Blue Ridge Flyer travels eastbound.

The scenic railway was named one of the “20 Most Scenic Train Rides in the South” by Southern Living.

Trains operate Thursday through Sunday.

The fall excursion offers a unique way to explore the Shenandoah Valley while enjoying a delicious meal.

Tickets are $120 per person and includes a bistro-style meal. Dining cars offer tabletop meal service and onboard narration. The new fall menu includes turkey, pulled pork barbecue and chili. Vegetarian options are also available.
