staunton3We know you value the arts, history and preservation, and the local economy.  Demonstrate your interest to city leaders and to the media by attending an important Public Forum on Arts, Culture, and Tourism with Staunton City Council Candidates on Tuesday, April 22, from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at the Blackfriars Playhouse, 10 S. Market St., in historic Downtown Staunton.

Questions for the candidates will be prepared from submissions by members of the Staunton Art and Culture Council, an informal, grassroots coalition of Staunton organizations involved in the arts and history.  The Art and Culture Council currently includes six performing theater groups, five visual arts organizations, five performing music organizations, four history/preservation groups, and one literary group.

Chris Graham, president and editor of Augusta Free Press, will serve as the moderator of the forum.  Prepared questions will be posed to the candidates who will be given the opportunity to respond within time limits.  Following the first hour of directed questioning, audience members will have an opportunity to ask questions, relevant to the topic, from the floor.

The forum is open to the public and there is no admission charge.
