Here we go again, with the Virginia Department of Health needing to put out a release to tell people that vaccines are safe, this time the focus being, flu, COVID-19 and RSV.
People who inject horse dewormer are in charge of the healthcare system at the federal level.
What a time to be alive.
“Respiratory viruses like flu, COVID-19, and RSV account for tens of thousands of visits to urgent care and emergency rooms in Virginia each year. While these viruses can affect anyone, they can be especially serious for older adults, people living with chronic conditions, and those who cannot be vaccinated, including our youngest infants,” said State Health Commissioner Dr. Cameron Webb, a board-certified internal medicine physician, attorney and public health expert, and former professor at the UVA Medical School and the Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy at UVA.
All of that renders him suspicious to the “do my own research” crowd, of course.
VDH is recommending that children and adults are vaccinated in accordance with the 2026-2027 respiratory vaccination recommendations from the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and the Infectious Diseases Society of America.
Obvious problem there: no one from those outfits appears regularly on Joe Rogan.
“The best way to protect yourself and those around you is to stay up to date on recommended vaccinations. VDH encourages Virginians to talk with their healthcare provider about which vaccines are recommended for them,” said Webb, who, need to point out, is another who doesn’t get airtime with Rogan or Pat Magafee.
If you have questions about vaccines or vaccine-preventable diseases, talk to a healthcare provider or contact your local health department for more information.
