Allen named ACC player of the week

Allen, despite battling a strained groin, scored a season-high 24 points and pulled down 11 rebounds to lead the Hokies to their sixth-straight win, 71-59 over ACC foe Florida State Saturday.

In coming up with his third-straight double-double, and his fifth in six games, the Washington, D.C., senior was seven-of-12 from the floor and a career-best 10-of-12 from the line.
