Speed was a factor in a fatal two-vehicle crash on Saturday in Fauquier County, according to Virginia State Police.

Christopher V. Gresch, 31, of Manassas, was wearing a helmet and died at the scene.

The crash occurred Saturday at 5:58 p.m. at the intersection of Route 806 (Elk Run Road) and Barnes Road.

His 2015 Moto Guzzi Griso motorcycle was traveling north on Route 806 when it collided with a westbound 2023 Acura RDX which was attempting to make a left turn onto Route 806.

The driver of the Acura, a 49-year-old woman from Catlett whose name has not been released, was not injured in the crash. She was wearing a seatbelt.

The crash remains under investigation, according to VSP.
